The Oblong Octogon OO-Group is a difficult group to assemble as they rarely turn up in the open antique glass market. A good majority of these were made in the Midwestern glass factory's surrounding Pittsburgh. The shape in this case is an oblong octagon bowl and Pedestal type base.
OO-21 This is the only Oblong Octogon salt in my collection. Neal lists this as the OO-21 in Clear glass with a slight hint of pinkish amethyst. It is listed as Rare by the Neal's. This salt was manufactured at the glass factory of Bakewell and Page Pittsburghearly between 1826 and 1835.
